Heart blockage is a multifactorial disease. There are about 15 reasons of heart disease.

1 .High Cholesterol
2. High Triglyceride
3. Stress
4. Family History / Genetics
5. High B.P.
6. Tobacco
7. High Sugar
8. Alcohol
9. Lack of Exercise
10. Obesity
11. Low Fibre Intake
12. Low Antioxidants

1. High Cholesterol: Cholesterol in simply words – It is a fat.Sources: Non vegetarian food viz: Chicken, Matan, Fish, Egg, etc., Milk and milk products (Paneer, Mava, Chena, Rasogulla etc.)

Cholesterol molecules when becomes excess in our blood, starts get deposit in heart arteries and forms blockages. After 20 years of age, whatever excess fat we eat starts depositing gradually in our body mainly in arteries, stomach layers, hands, legs, face etc. Cholesterol is the main component in the heart blockage

2. Triglyceride: In simple words – It is oil (all kinds of oils and Ghee) Sources – Oil producing plants Triglyceride molecules when becomes excess in the blood, starts get deposit in the heart arteries and forms blockages.

3. Stress: Stress means pressure on our mind, In today’s lifestyle everyone is having one or the other problem, Students has study, competition pressure, men and woman has job / business pressure, old once has health related issues. Besides this many other things like, politics, crimes, media, newspapers, accident, pandemic diseases and many more…… these all creates stress.

Here it is necessary to mention that there is a significant difference between tension and stress.
When we have any problem, we start thinking about it, –
What will happen?
How we will cope up with this?
And like that, we think 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and try to resolve it. But when we think for longer like 1 hour, 2 hours, every moment we had that issue in our mind then after certain level this tension / problem converts into an stress. When a person comes into stress, blood pressure raises and it creates a pressure on artery walls and damages them, On the damaged sites blockage formation process speeds up.

4. Family History / Genetics: Many times it comes into hearing that I don’t eat fat foods, no milk, no novegetarian food, No oil and no ghee, still I have heart blockages, how? The possible reason beingYour family history and body genetics plays an important role in heart blockage
formation. Blockage mainly composed of cholesterol and triglycerides.
If your lever has the tendency of cholesterol formation, your blockage will grow, no matters you don’t take cholesterol rich foods. And it is possible that that same tendency will pass on to your next generation.

5. High Blood Pressure: Normal blood pressure of the body is –
< 120 Systolic
< 80 Diastolic
For heart patients
and 120 / 80 for others.
It is scientifically tested data; it means our blood tubes are made to bear pressure
till 120

When blood pressure raises above 120, it creates extra pressure on the walls of
blood arteries, sometimes blood pressure becomes 140, 160, 180, 200, 250 etc. As much as blood pressure increases it creates same amount of extra pressure on the artery walls and this extra pressure damages artery walls. On the damaged sites blockages formation becomes faster.

6. Tobacco: Any form of tobacco chewing is dangerous for our health specially for our heart, tobacco contains nicotine. Nicotine is sticky substance it makes artery wall sticky and on sticky surface cholesterol and triglyceride molecules deposits fast resulting in making blockage formation process faster.

7. High Sugar: The following statistics speak loud and clear that there is a strong correlation between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes.

  • At least 68 percent of people age 65 or older with diabetes die from some form of heart disease; and 16% die of stroke.
  • Adults with diabetes are two to four times more likely to die from heart disease than
    adults without diabetes.
  • The American Heart Association considers diabetes to be one of the seven major
controllable risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

“Studies have shown that the amount of sugar, or glucose, in the blood changes the behaviour of blood vessels, making them contract more than normal. This could result in higher blood pressure and high blood pressure is again a risk factor for heart blockage.

8. Over Weight: Persons have weight more than normal have high chances of blockage deposition they already have excess body fat and there are high chances of fat deposition in heart arteries.

9. Lack of Exercise: This is directly related to weight gain, when we do not do enough physical body activity and eat more, our body produces extra fat and this may deposit in our heart arteries and make blockage formation.

10. Low Antioxidants: A diet high in antioxidants may reduce the risk of many diseases, including heart disease and certain cancers. Antioxidants scavenge free radicals from the body cells, and prevent or reduce the damage caused by oxidation. The protective effect of antioxidants continues to be studied around the world.

11. Low Fibre Intake: Dietary fibre is important for our digestive health and regular bowel movements. Fibre also helps you feel fuller for longer, can improve cholesterol and blood sugar levels and can assist in preventing some diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and bowel cancer. So low fibre intake may increases chances of blockage formation.
